Aakash Chopra Calls for RCB to Go All Out for Rishabh Pant in IPL 2025 Mega Auction, Even at INR 25 Crore
Aakash Chopra, a former Indian cricketer and commentator, urges Royal Challengers Bangalore to go all out for one of the hottest picks in the IPL 2025 mega auction, wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant. Chopra believes that Pant’s batting style will be well-suited to M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which has shorter boundaries and a flat pitch, ideal for his strengths.
RCB has retained only three players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, including Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and uncapped player Yash Dayal. The franchise will now enter the auction with the second-largest purse, INR 83 crore. If they want to sign Pant, they will most likely have a bidding war with Punjab Kings, who have the largest purse of INR 110.5 crore and are also expected to target the wicket-keeper batter.
RCB should bid aggressively for Rishabh Pant
Aakash Chopra recently shared his thoughts on Rishabh Pant’s future in IPL 2025. He strongly advised Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to go after Pant, even if it means spending a large amount, up to INR 25 crores. “Will you go towards Rishabh Pant? In my opinion, they should go for him. Pant’s playing style would be a great fit for the small boundaries at M. Chinnaswamy, and RCB should be ready to spend up to INR 25 crores to secure him.”
However, if Pant becomes too expensive, Chopra suggested RCB could look at local boy KL Rahul as an alternative. He doesn’t think RCB will go after Shreyas Iyer, as he expects Delhi to keep him.
