IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans have retained five players for IPL 2025. The retained players are Afghan spinner Rashid Khan, young Indian star Shubman Gill, left-handed batsman B Sai Sudharsan, all-rounder Rahul Tewatia, and explosive lower-order batter Shahrukh Khan. Notably, the team did not retain experienced players like Mohammed Shami, David Miller, Kane Williamson, and others. However, they can use the RTM card to bring back a player if they want. Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan has been a standout bowler in the IPL with his tight economy and ability to take crucial wickets. Over 121 matches, he has claimed 149 wickets with a remarkable economy of 6.82, making him one of the most economical bowlers in the league. His best bowling figures are 4 for 24, and he maintains an impressive average of 21.82.

In 2024, playing for Gujarat Titans, Rashid took 10 wickets in 12 matches with an economy of 8.40, although his average was higher than usual at 36.7. However, in 2023, he was in top form, taking 27 wickets in 17 matches with an economy of 8.23. Rashid’s IPL career highlights his consistency in the shorter format, where he has excelled in both powerplay and middle overs.

Shubhaman Gill 

Shubman Gill is likely to remain the captain of the team in IPL 2025 as well. He has a solid career average of 37.83 across 103 matches, amassing 3,216 runs at a strike rate of 135.69. He has scored four centuries and 20 fifties, with a highest score of 129.

In IPL 2024, Gill scored 426 runs in 12 matches for Gujarat Titans with an average of 38.72 and a strike rate of 147.4, including one century and two fifties. His 2023 season was even stronger, where he tallied 890 runs in 17 matches with an impressive average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.8, hitting three centuries and four fifties. Known for his clean hitting and consistency, Gill has become a key player in the top order, contributing significantly to his team’s successes.

Sai Sudharshan

Sai Sudharsan has shown impressive batting consistency in the IPL, scoring 1,034 runs in 25 matches with an average of 47.00 and a strike rate of 139.16. He has one century and six fifties, with a highest score of 103.

In IPL 2024, Sudharsan played 12 matches for Gujarat Titans, scoring 527 runs at an average of 47.90 and a strike rate of 141.28, including one century and two fifties. In the 2023 season, he scored 362 runs in 8 matches with a strong average of 51.71 and a strike rate of 141.40, adding three fifties to his record. Known for his reliability and powerful hitting, Sudharsan has been a valuable middle-order batsman for his team.

Rahul Tewatiya 

Rahul Tewatia has been an effective all-rounder in the IPL, playing across four teams with notable performances in both bowling and batting. As a bowler, he has taken 32 wickets in 93 matches with an economy of 7.90 and a best bowling figure of 3/18. Although not always in the frontline, Tewatia has delivered valuable spells when needed.

In IPL 2024, Tewatia did not bowl in any matches for Gujarat Titans, focusing instead on his batting contributions. His last substantial bowling stint was in IPL 2021 with Rajasthan Royals, where he took 8 wickets in 222 balls bowled with an economy of 9.18. Tewatia continues to be known for his versatility and utility across both disciplines.

Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan has shown potential as a hard-hitting middle-order batsman in the IPL, representing both Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans. Across 40 matches, he has scored 553 runs with a strike rate of 141.43 and a high score of 58, achieved during the 2024 season for Gujarat Titans. Although his batting average sits at 19.75, his ability to score quickly makes him a valuable asset in the late overs.

In IPL 2024, playing for Gujarat Titans, Shahrukh notched his highest IPL score of 58, accumulating 127 runs at a strong strike rate of 169.33. His batting power is further highlighted in his 2023 season with Punjab Kings, where he scored 156 runs with a strike rate of 165.95, despite limited opportunities.
