Lucknow Super Giants have announced their retained players, with Nicholas Pooran being the top retention for INR 21 crore. Alongside him, four Indian players Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav, and Ayush Badoni have also been retained. Notably, the franchise has not retained two of their star players, KL Rahul, who has captained the team for the past three seasons, and Australia’s explosive all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. Nicholas Pooran

Nicholas Pooran has been a dynamic middle-order batsman in the IPL, known for his explosive hitting and impactful finishes. Playing across three franchises, he has showcased his skills in critical match situations.

In his IPL career, Pooran has played 76 matches, scoring 1,769 runs at an average of 32.16 and a strike rate of 162.29. His highest score is 77, with nine fifties, 112 fours, and 127 sixes.

In IPL 2024, he delivered an exceptional season for LSG, scoring 499 runs in 14 matches at an impressive average of 62.37 and a strike rate of 178.21. His top score was 75, with three half-centuries. In 2023, he also had a solid performance with LSG, scoring 358 runs in 15 matches at an average of 29.83 and a strike rate of 172.94. In 2022 with SRH, he scored 306 runs in 14 matches with an average of 38.25 and a strike rate of 144.33. His best season strike rate came in 2020 with PBKS, scoring 353 runs with an impressive strike rate of 169.71 across 14 matches.

Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi, a leg-spinner known for his precise bowling and effective variations, has made a strong impact in the IPL. Across 66 matches for two franchises, Bishnoi has taken 63 wickets at an average of 29.14 and an economy rate of 7.80, with his best figures being 3/24.

In IPL 2024, he played 14 matches for LSG, claiming 10 wickets with an average of 38.30 and an economy of 8.77. In IPL 2023, he had a solid season with 16 wickets in 15 matches, averaging 24.43 and maintaining a respectable economy of 7.74. His 2022 season also saw him take 13 wickets in 14 games, with an average of 35.07 and an economy of 8.44. Bishnoi’s standout economy came in IPL 2021 with PBKS, where he recorded 12 wickets at an average of 19.16 and a low economy rate of 6.38 over nine matches.

Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav, a promising bowler for LSG, showcased his potential in the IPL with impactful performances in his debut season in 2024. In just 4 matches, conceding 85 runs while taking 7 wickets. His best figures were 3/14, and he averaged 12.14 with an economy rate of 6.98. His strike rate of 10.4 highlights his ability to take wickets at regular intervals, marking a solid start to his IPL career.

Mohsin Khan

Mohsin Khan has made a mark as a skilled bowler for LSG in the IPL. Over his career, he has played 24 matches and bowled 486 balls, taking 27 wickets with a best bowling figure of 4/16. His overall average stands at 25.51, with an economy rate of 8.50, showcasing his ability to keep runs in check.

In the 2024 season, he played 10 matches, where he took 10 wickets at an average of 38.50 and an economy rate of 10.13. His best performance in this season was 2/29.

In the 2023 season, he featured in 5 matches, claiming 3 wickets with a best of 1/24, while in 2022, he excelled with 14 wickets in 9 matches, recording impressive figures of 4/16. Mohsin’s consistent wicket-taking ability and effective bowling make him a key asset for LSG.

Ayush Badoni

Ayush Badoni has established himself as a promising batsman for LSG in the IPL, showcasing his skills across multiple seasons. Over his career, he has played 42 matches, scoring 634 runs at an average of 24.38 with a highest score of 59 not out. His strike rate of 134.03 highlights his aggressive batting style, including 46 fours and 24 sixes.

In the 2024 season, he participated in 14 matches, accumulating 235 runs at an average of 29.37. His best performance in this season was 55 not out, and he hit 22 fours and 5 sixes.

During the 2023 season, he played 15 matches, scoring 238 runs with a highest score of 59 not out and an average of 23.80. He managed 13 fours and 12 sixes in this season. In 2022, he featured in 13 matches, where he scored 161 runs at an average of 20.12. His best score was 54, complemented by 11 fours and 7 sixes. Ayush Badoni’s consistent performances and ability to play crucial innings make him an important player for LSG.
