After winning the first Test in Perth, India’s preparation for the Adelaide Test is in full swing. Team India is preparing for the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at Adelaide Oval. However, during one practice session, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant were body-shamed by the crowd. The incident was disappointing, as the crowd’s behavior was disrespectful toward the players. Due to this, the practice session was turned into a media-only event.

Around 3000 fans were gathered to watch the practice session of the Indian team ahead of the pink ball test starting on December 6. Usually, practice sessions are not open to the public, but this one was made accessible to the Adelaide crowd. During the practice session, some fans crossed the line by passing inappropriate comments and constantly asking for selfies, which disturbed the players.

According to the report, both Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant were unhappy with the disrespectful comments by the crowd. Despite this, the Indian team continues their practice, aiming to perform well in the BGT 2024-25.

Captain Rohit Sharma is back after missing the first Test due to personal reasons and will lead the team in the second test at the Adelaide Oval, which is a pink ball test.

India currently leads the series by 1-0, defeating Australia in Perth by 295 runs thanks to outstanding performances from Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and KL Rahul.

Shubman Gill is also likely to make a comeback to the team after missing the first match due to a thumb injury. Devdutt Padikkal and Druv Jurel are likely to be benched in this match to make way for captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in the playing XI of India. On the other hand, Scott Boland will replace injured Jos Hazelwood in the Australian playing XI for the 2nd Test of BGT 2024-25.
