1. Indian player with the fastest 50, 100, and 300 test wickets

Ashwin’s bowling career has been nothing short of remarkable. He became the fastest Indian to reach 50 Test wickets in just nine matches shortly after making his debut for the national side, and he went on to record 100 wickets in just eighteen matches. In addition, Ashwin became the fastest bowler in history to take 300 Test wickets in the number of matches he played, solidifying his status as one of the greatest bowlers in history.

2. A True All-Rounder

Ashwin’s batting has been simply breathtaking , alongside his reputation as a spin maestro. His five Test centuries showcase his value as an all-around player. His most noteworthy performance came against England in 2021, when he hit a stellar century while picking  wickets to help Team India clinch a clean win.

3. Record-Breaking Man of the Series Awards

Ashwin has earned him a whopping number of 11 ‘Man of the Series’ awards in Test cricket, accolades than any other Indian in Test cricket thanks to his consistency. He is a true match-winner because of his ability to produce performances that win games with both the bat and the ball.

Ashwin has had incredible bowling records. He is the only cricketer from India to have taken five wickets and scored a century in a Test match four times. In addition, he is the second-highest wicket-taker for India in Test cricket (537), trailing only the great Anil Kumble, and he owns the record for the most wickets in India (383).

5. Esteemed Honors and Accolades 

Ashwin has won a lot of accolades. He was named the 2016 ICC Test Cricketer of the Year and ICC Cricketer of the Year. The all-round player was also included in the ICC Test Team of the Decade (2011–2020) and chosen for the ICC Test Teams of the Year. The lethal spinner also received the Arjuna Award in 2015 for his contribution to Indian cricket.
