The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. Some of the big T20 players having reputed careers might not get sold and like each year’s story some prominent names might not get any bidder. Here are the top five players who are unlikely to get the base price bid.

Kane Williamson

The Kiwi captain has been going through injuries since winning the WTC. after the World Test Championship in 2021. Kane Williamson played for multiple teams, including Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. Williamson joined the SRH squad back in 2015 and was promoted as captain in 2018. He led the team to the finals and became the first Kiwi player to win an orange cap with a score of 735 runs in the season, joining the top run scorer in a season in IPL history. Williamsons goes through an auction in 2024 and is sold to GT for a base price of RS 2 crore. He is still suffering from knee injuries. For the team looking for long-term players. Williamson’s IPL journey seems to be over. as he struck 110 from the last four years due to his injuries

David Warner

With 6565 runs in 184 matches, Warner is one of the legends of the IPL, having made his debut in 2009. But with a career average of more than 40, Warner, the left-hand batsman, is likely to get no bid in the mega auction as he failed to score in his last T20 World Cup 2024. Thus, it is unlikely that Warner, who represented franchises of Delhi and Hyderabad in his career, will get even a single bid.

Mohammad Nabi

The Afghani superstar and former captain Mohammad Nabi might go unsold in the mega auction, although his batting and especially bowling performances in IPL were too impressive, but he does not have either form or age on his side. The franchise would be more interested in long-term players. The team will look for the players who will be playing for them for a straight four years; unfortunately, Nabi will not fit in the age scheme. the longest season he ever got with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019, where he got to play 8 matches in which he got a four-wicket haul in one. The 39-year-old right-arm off-break bowler might go unsold in the upcoming mega auction.

Jason Holder

Jason Holder went unsold in the last auction after setting his base price at INR 1.5 cr. The tall pacer from the Caribbean’s land played 46 matches and got prices as high as INR 8.75 and 5.75 cr in consecutive seasons in 2022 and 2023. The 33-year-old all-rounder has not had a single fifty-plus score with the bat in 22 innings since November 2023. Looking at his current form, he will be the least interesting player for the franchise to bid on.

Shakib Al Hasan

Like Nabi, Bangladesh’s biggest player and former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team, Shakib, the left-handed all-rounder, has had quite a tough year personally; he may go unsold for this mega auction, whereas in the 2024 IPL auction, he did not place himself as he was focused on the Bangladesh Premier League. Shaib Al Hasan is expected to be in the 2025 IPL auction with a base price of 1 crore and is likely to get unsold. The 37-year-old, who last played an IPL game in 2021, has 793 runs and 63 wickets in 71 matches, having made his league debut in 2011.
